RCSI Library pops-up in Dublinia for #ScienceWeek 2019

SFI’s annual #ScienceWeek aims to showcase the science in our everyday lives. RCSI Library’s Heritage team popped-up in Dublinia, Dublin’s unique Viking and medieval experience, to share medical history from the College’s historic collections.
Visitors met the heritage experts, saw instruments, surgical textbooks, innovations and devices that have formed part of Ireland’s extensive medical history, hearing how necessity is often the mother of invention for everyday citizens as well as professional developments.
Over two weeks, the displays were visited by hundreds of members of the public, with great interest in RCSI’s recently published Instruments & Innovations booklet: https://digitalheritagecollections.rcsi.ie/instrumentsandinnovations/?page=1
