RCSI Library, No. 26 York Street – Sneak Preview for Librarians

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland’s state of the art new academic and education building will open in autumn 2017. The College has invested approximately €80 million in the development of this modern, practical and sophisticated facility which, once completed, will be used to educate future healthcare leaders. The 120,000 square foot development, spanning 10 floors, will comprise a library; a world-class surgical and clinical training suite; a 540 seat auditorium; a sports hall and fitness suite, and has been designed to be energy efficient and environmentally responsible.

In advance of the official opening of the building with the start of the 2017/2018 academic year the RCSI Library team wishes to invite library colleagues to take a tour of the new library spaces in No. 26 York Street. The library spans three floors and is integrated into the state of the art clinical and surgical education building. Features of the tour include: the Library Learning Commons and Expo Stage; Information Point; Reading Lounge; Group Study and Consultation Rooms; Study Zones; Library Staff Suite; Language Learning Centre and Computer Room.

We are delighted to showcase the new RCSI Library spaces in advance of the next academic year. We will be unable to accommodate requests for visits during the academic year, September 2017 – June 2018.
