Draft programme for the 2017 CONUL Annual Conference is now available

We are delighted to announce that the draft programme for the 2017 CONUL Annual Conference is now available. The schedule features an exciting and diverse mix of plenary sessions, presentations, lightning talks, and posters, as well as an innovative “show and tell” format – all encapsulating the theme of this year’s conference: Inspiring & Supporting Research.

Lorcan Dempsey, Vice President, Membership and Research, OCLC will deliver the opening keynote presentation entitled “The network reshapes the research library collection”, whilst Dr Danny Kingsley, Head of Scholarly Communication at University of Cambridge will discuss “Emerging from the chrysalis – transforming libraries for the future” in her keynote address on the second day.

The programme features breakout sessions covering a breadth of topics including research data management, library staffing, and unique and distinctive collections, with strong representation and input from CONUL institutions, as well as other national and international speakers. The Conference closes with a panel discussion on a key issue that brings both opportunities and challenges for research libraries: Open Access.

In line with previous years, the CONUL Annual Conference continues to provide substantial opportunities for delegates to network with new and existing colleagues, as well as our generous sponsors.

The Conference takes place on May 30th-31st in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone, Co Westmeath.
