Sub-Committee on Preservation

Established:

  • 2001

Terms of reference:

  1. To advise CONUL on preservation matters.
  2. To act as a forum for the exchange of ideas and experience.
  3. To promote awareness of preservation issues in Ireland.
  4. To facilitate staff training and development in the area of preservation.
  5. To establish links with other bodies with a remit in the area of preservation.
  6. To promote cooperation particularly in the area of disaster planning and preparedness in other appropriate areas of preservation.
  7. To promote national and international standards in preservation.
  8. To establish a briefing papers programme to promote good preservation practice.
  9. To recognise good practice in preservation.
  10. To maintain a directory of expertise.
