Brownbag Pitch: Duanaire, A Treasury of Digital Data for Irish Economic History

The James Hardiman Library are delighted to present the next in our Digital Publishing Brownbag Pitch series, focusing on Duanaire, A Treasury of Digital Data for Irish Economic History. The event will be held in The Bridge, Room 1001, First Floor of the Hardiman Research Building, NUI Galway, on January 17 from 12-2 pm.

Duanaire is the work of Dr. Aidan Kane and his team, and is an innovative project that has unearthed a wealth of Irish fiscal history data and made it accessible online in a range of formats. At its core are the detailed accounts of revenues and expenditures from the Journals of the House of Commons of the Kingdom of Ireland throughout the 1700s. Dr. Kane will talk about the evolution of the project, and will be joined by collaborators David Kelly, Digital Technologist at the Moore Institute, and Cillian Joy, the Hardiman Library’s Digital Library Developer.
